Commission: Nice Guy?
2014. Every once in awhile people pay me to make stuff for them, but I most certainly usually always forget to document them. Luckily I remembered this one. Mixed media portrait of a friend of mine who is normally an old-fashioned, clean-cut kind of guy.
Comission: Beaver Flemming
2014. NitroCircus athlete and friend Beaver Flemming asked me to create his signature Beaver graphic for his professional model skate deck. Even though this was 4 years ago, the little critter can still be seen all over his social media.
Personal: Flowers for Alergernon
2014. With a name like that, this should be a wild ride, right? This instillation was actually a personal piece executed during my final year of college. Starting with a digital map, this abstract piece ended in a 3’ x 5’ vinyl installation. Each flower was mapped, weeded and placed onto it’s mounting board by hand. Countless hours of squeegeeing and heat application in different forms — some unorthodox — were used in order to combat air bubbles among the vinyl layers. Standing close to this piece you can see and feel the “veins” of the different flowers. Different vinyl finishes were used to create depth.
